Sambo Mourns Monarch


Governor of Kaduna state, Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo, today, visited Kagoro, a Southern part of the state, to commiserate with the people of Kagoro kingdom on the death of the oldest monarch in the state, Chief of Kagoro, Danladi Gwamna Awan.

Governor of Kaduna state, Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo, today, visited Kagoro, a Southern part of the state, to commiserate with the people of Kagoro kingdom on the death of the oldest monarch in the state, Chief of Kagoro, Danladi Gwamna Awan.

While at the late Kagoro Chief‘s palace, Namadi, who expressed shock at the news of the death, prayed for the repose of the soul of the monarch. He, however , urged the people of Kagoro and the entire state to accept the death as an act of God.

Accordng to him, the late Awan might be dead but his spirit lives on. The governor described him as a man that exemplifies true leadership and commitment to development of humanity.

Meanwhile, it was stated in a press statement released on Wednesday to P.M.News, that the Chief of Kagaro died in the early hours of 30 September, at the Evangelical Church of West Africa, ECWA , Jos, Plateau state, after a protracted illness.

The Awan died at the age of 90, after being the chief of Kagoro kingdom for 63 years, making him the oldest monarch in the state to serve for such a long period. The late Awan was born in 1918 and was coronated chief of Kagoro in 1945.
